Man shot to death in New Orleans

A 33-year-old man was killed Saturday night in the 1900 block of Joliet Street, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
The shooting happened around 10:45 P.M., said Officer Janssen Valencia, NOPD spokesperson.
Second District officers responding to a call of a man down found the victim lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body. Emergency medical technicians were summoned to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead. Homicide Detective Desmond Platt is in charge of the investigation.
